Popup improvement

I wanted our small popup to be a bright, cheerful, uncluttered, cozy space for us to unwind during our outdoor week ends, here are some tricks I used to organize the space to contain a family of five. This is what I achieved after a couple of trips to Ikea.

On the ends of both bunks I attached these " hanging pockets" ( Kusiner, Ikea) to gather books, electronic games and other small objects. A small LED light( Jansjo, Ikea) makes it easier for nightime reading.

This Hanging closet (Skubb, Ikea) is a nice way to hide  the two hanging baskets ( Ikea) as well as our towels, beach bags, first aid kit and more. The hanging basket and the two sets of baskets are all attached to the build in clothes hanger. The baskets and the closet are emptied before popping down but they stay in place. The hanging closet zips up and hide all the unsightly mess. The drawer underneath holds mosquito spray, lighter, batteries and more, the small closet underneath is the pantry.

Each family member owns a plasic bag (Lingo, Ikea) with his name on it,  big enough to hold a whole week of clothing, they are stored in the space underneath the benches, the three kids on the far end and the parents's in the other one, as wel as the grey bag for dirty laundry.

To make it as painless as possible for the two boys to share a bed we got them each their own conforter, their pillows on opposite sides, a body pillow (Ikea) used as a partition, and each one has his own set of Hanging pockets. I am not saying that it is a success, and that they never fight, but they are little boys, and fighting is their favorite past time.

To compensate for the thin mattresses, I covered them with a memory foam mattress topper ( discount store) as well as a padded mattress cover, all the bedding is 100% cotton ( Kajsa, IKEA.) The conforters (Ikea) are warm but light weight for summer,The result is the ultimate sleep experience, seriously!

A small cordless vacuum cleaner is a must have to keep the small space free from sand and dirt, it is hidden behind the hanging closet.

In Florida the whole point of having a camper is to protect us from the elements, I purchased the "popup gismos" online to insulate the roof of both bunks, they attach with straps and clamps and are very effective for those 95 degrees days of summer.

To insulate the windows I bought a roll of insulation material called Refectix, at an home improvement store, one roll is enough to insulate the whole popup with more to spare, I cut to size, with scissors, enough to cover the windows on half of the popup, they fit in between the mosquito net and the canvas of the windows, we switch side as the sun turns. When not in used they are stored underneath the mattresses and thay have to be taken of the windows before popping down.
