Get the kids involved in saving the planet.
Young children are naturally compassionate, they feel for other persons and for animals, It is a good idea to start early on to introduce them to Nature and to teach them that The trees, plants and animals deserve the same respect and care as other human beings. They love to be involved with their parents. Last year on Earth day we sat down altogether and I asked them to help me build a list of ways to reduce our impact on the environment. They decided that we had to:
-
cut our shower time
-
turn the lights off when not in use,
-
raise the temperature of the air conditioning when out of the house,
-
limit the watering time for the yard.
-
build a compost bin.
Once the list was established, we decided how we would share the responsibilities to enforce those new measures:
We used a timer for the showers, put a little note by the door to remember to raise the air conditioner temperature, use a timer when setting up the sprinkler outside, and they will take turn to bring the fruits and vegetables scraps in the compost bin.
It is a great ideas to get them all involved and to make them share the heavy responsibility of caring for our planet.

this is just me! Trying to feed my family organic food, detoxify our home and teach our children simple, spiritual values. Well...it sounds beautiful, doesn'it?, it is not always the picture perfect family one can imagine, it is a crazy bunch, but we take it one day at a time and try to have fun in the process......
